Govt gives green signal to metal park in Chhattisgarh

The proposed Metal Park in Chhattisgarh would soon be put on roll as the authorities had approved the plan to start the work on the project at the earliest.
The Park would be developed by the state-run Chhattisgarh State Industrial Development Corporation (CSIDC). The crucial meeting of the CSIDC board held on Thursday afternoon gave nod to the proposal for allocating land for the project and expedite the work.
The Metal Park would come up in 102 hectare of land near Siltara Industrial Development Centre managed by the CSIDC at the outskirts of the state capital. The state government had allotted the land to the corporation for the project.
A senior CSIDC official said that 51 plots would be allotted as part of the first phase of the project. The size of the plots would be between 5000 square feet and 7200 square feet, the official said, adding that application would be invited from the industrialists for the plots and setting up the unit.
The official added that the work on the project would be started soon after the board’s approval. The notice would be issued in the newspaper inviting application for the allotment of land.
The Metal Park was proposed in wake of Chhattisgarh’s strong base of metal industries. A large number of iron and steel, power and cement plants have been set up in the state. To cater to the ever increasing demand for downstream products a Metal Park had been proposed.
Plots would be available for downstream metal (ferro and non ferro) industries like tower manufacturing units, wind mills, nut-bolt, hand tools, forgings, castings, utensils, auto components, machine manufacturing, Pipes/tubes manufacturing, Cutting tools, dies and fixtures, railway track material, wire ropes, transformers, welding electrodes, modular furniture / kitchen, control panels etc.
