Gujarat Puts 10 Tcgl Properties On The Block

Tourism Corporation of Gujarat (TCGL), one of the several sick corporation of the cash-strapped state government, has decided to handover 10 hot tourist properties in the state to private parties and already has forwarded a proposal to the state government.
The properties include heritage property, Chorwad palace at Junagadh and also a medium-size hotel at Dholavira, the spot of the ancient Harappan culture in Kutch district. TCGL is facing financial problems since the last two years following the earthquake and communal violence taking a toll on tourist inflows. The local people have generally been seen preferring making tours to places outside the state and this has also added to the TCGL woes.
Now, the officials of the corporation feel that disinvestment of these prime properties would bring some money for the TCGL and the private owners
