Inflation Rate Rises To 5.48%

The annual point-to-point inflation rate rose to 5.48 per cent, the second highest this fiscal, for week ending 18 August. The highest inflation level, so far, this year was 5.52 per cent for the weeks ending May 26 and June 2.

The wholesale price index (WPI) based inflation has gone up by 10.5 per cent over the last four weeks. During the week in question, the WPI-based inflation went up by 0.08 percentage points from the previous week
