Kerala assembly Speaker M Vijayakumar met with an accident at Ettumanoor, 12 km from here, when the car in which he was travelling rammed into the escort jeep in front yesterday. According to police, the accident occurred when a pilgrim from Konni was crossing the road in front of the Ettumanoor Siva temple, when the driver of the jeep applied brakes suddenly, resulting in the collision. The injured person has been admitted to the medical college hospital. Vijayakumar was on his way to Changanacherry to open the `Mannam Jayanthi celebrations.
