MIDC to attract global investors

The Maharashtra Industrial Development Corporation (MIDC) has launched online land application facility which allows companies from anywhere in the world to apply for the land in industrial estates developed by MIDC.

At the function to launch the facility, chief executive officer of MIDC Rajiv Jalota said, "Currently, an entrepreneur who wants to set up his facility in Maharashtra has to go to the regional offices of MIDC to make inquiries about the availability of land. If it is not available there, the entrepreneur has to go to another regional office."

The new online facility displays, among others, the availability of land and its rate, facilities offered by MIDC at a particular industrial park and other useful details.

He further said, "Soon, we will upload the maps of all industrial parks which will allow investors to see exact location of the plots available for sale and those which have been sold and the buyers' details."

MIDC has entered into an agreement with TCS to implement the enterprise resource planning (ERP) programme within 18 months time in a phased manner.

It will have facilities for no-objection certificates and departmental clearances, certificate from the fire brigade and approval to the building plan.
