Minister reviews Vallur power project

Union Minister of State for Power K C Venugopal on Thursday reviewed the implementation of Vallur project of NTPC Tamil Nadu Energy Company Limited (NTECL ) near Chennai.Venugopal informed that the central government was tracking the project for speedy implem-entation as 75 per cent of the power from the project would be supplied to Tamil Nadu.  The first 500 Mw of the 3X 500 project was synchronised early this year while the other two units are expected to go on stream by next year. NTECL is 50:50 joint venture between NTPC & TN Generation and Distribution Company to develop and implement and operate the Vallur power project near Ennore Port.
