NatGeo, now in Bengali

BS Reporter Kolkata

National Geographic Channel will be available in Bengali from November 3, 2010. This will enable the channel to reach out to a larger spectrum of Bengali viewers in India to ‘Live Curious’ in their own language.

National Geographic Channel, which is currently available in Hindi, English and Telugu, will showcase the programmes like ‘Jailed Abroad’ and ‘Air Crash Investigations’, to NGC specials like ‘Great migrations’.

Commenting on the launch, Keertan Adyanthaya, Managing Director, National Geographic Network & FOX International Channels, said, “We are extremely thrilled to reach out to the audiences of West Bengal-it is an important market for us as we have a large number of viewers in the state. Bringing NGC in Bengali will give our viewers a flavor of compelling stories in their native language, aided by stunning visuals and credibility that people have come to expect from the NatGeo”.
