The second meeting of the inter-state coordination committee consisting of top officials of the governments of Odisha and Jharkhand formed to curb illegal mining activities, was held at Keonjhar recently. Both the states have vowed to strengthen the online system to combat the interstate transport of illegally mined ore. “We have discussed various issues on the illegal movement of iron ore. We have adopted some IT based solutions for monitoring the online movement,” said U N Behera, principal secretary (home), Odisha.
