Oil rises to $45.46

Oil price in the US markets ended marginally higher after rising sharply in the morning trades but tapered off in early noon trades. While the Nymex U.S. light crude oil for March series gained 6 cents to $45.46 a barrel, the London Brent crude added 15 cents to wind up at $43.05 per barrel.

The metal segment saw the COMEX gold jump 20 cents to settle at $414.50 an ounce.
