Pharma quality circle expands in Gujarat

Our Regional Bureau Ahmedabad
With the inauguration of the Himmatnagar chapter of the quality circle, a co-operative movement in the pharmaceutical industry, the total number of branches of QC has increased to four.

Supported by the Gujarat state branch of IDMA, plans are afoot to set up at least six more QCs by the year end.

The first QC was opened at Mehsana. Afterwards, the Ahmedabad, Ankleshwar and Himmatnagar branches have become functional.

The Himmatnagar branch began functioning from Saturday. Neeraj Singh, co-ordinator for the QC movement, said he expected that QCs would be set up all across the state by the end of the fiscal.

"We will have the Vadodara and Surendranagar units functional by the next month," Singh said. Up to 15 pharmaceutical units get together to form a quality circle for meeting Schedule M guidelines and forming partnerships.
