Pvt colleges warned on fee hike

Karnataka's higher education minister D H Shankaramurthy on Thursday warned the private professional colleges against raising the fee for courses such as MBBS and BE for the 2006-07 academic year. The warning comes a day after the private colleges, under the aegis of COMED-K, announced plans to raise the existing fee by 25 per cent.

He said the government had constituted a special panel to revise the fee for 2007-08.
