Rly to relax movement of food grain

The move for relaxing the restriction comes after taking in to account the record wheat procurement that is estimated to have exceeded 20 million tonne during the current Kharif season by the Food Corporation of India (FCI) and other government agencies, which the Indian railways had facilitated by regulating movement of wheat by rail on private trade account.
Earlier Indian Railways had regulated the movement of foodgrains by rail on private trade account to prevent hoardings, thereby ensuring the availability of foodgrains throughout the country and to stabilise the foodgrain prices.
