Sidhu writes to PM on Amritsar SEZ

BJP MP from Amritsar Navjot Singh Sidhu has written an open letter to Prime Minister Manmohan Singh highlighting the issues concerning Amritsar like the need for setting up of multi product SEZ, Bio Technology park and four laning of Jalandhar-Wagah Road.

Sidhu said, "Deliberate denial and neglect of almost all important issues relating to Amritsar give the impression of some sinister design against this holy city, which is not only the most important city of Punjab, but the most important city of India religiously, strategically and historically."

He added, "The prime minister had announced the setting up a special economic zone, the lifeline of Industry in Amritsar on his visit during the pious occasion of the 400th anniversary of the Installation of Sri Guru Granth Sahib in September 2004. But it is irony that little had been accomplished on the ground."
