Technical upgradation is necessary for small scale industries (SSIs) to be competitive, P E Vidyasagar, chief general manager of SIDBI, told participants at a workshop on finance for SSIs, organised by the Confederation of Indian Industry (CII).
Bikash Ghosh, general manager of Allahabad Bank said, the task before banks and financial institutions should be to facilitate the SSIs in meeting the emergent challenges by providing them with timely and adequate finance without the hassles of procedural formalities.
