Vajpayee in Ahmedabad today

The Prime Minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee is scheduled to arrive in Ahmedabad on Friday evening. According to information available here, Vajpayee will address a public rally at the Sardar Patel stadium in the evening, before flying back to New Delhi.

Vajpayee will be accompanied by the Deputy Prime Minister L K Advani and Gujarat chief minister Narendra Modi, a spokesperson for the state BJP unit said here on Thursday.

The prime minister is expected to spend just two hours in the city before leaving for Delhi. The public meeting at Ahmedabad is scheduled to be held around 7 pm, sources said.

This will be the prime minister's first whirlwind campaign of Gujarat for the coming parliamentary elections.
