Corporate, Govt Yield Spreads Narrow

The yield on the benchmark five-year corporate paper in the secondary market pierced the 7 per cent level today to settle at 6.95 per cent. With this, the spread between corporate bond yields and the yield on a government bond of the same maturity has narrowed to 63 basis points, down from 190 basis points in April this year.
