Forex reserves up $2.04 bn at $142.64bn

Foreign exchange reserves increased $2.037 billion to $142.637 billion during the week ended August 5, 2005, according to the weekkly supplement released by the RBI today.

Foreign currency assets increased $2.079 billion to $136.666 billion. While gold reserves declined $58 million to $4.395 billion, SDRs were unchanged at $4 million. The Reserve Tranche Position (RTP) with the IMF moved up $16 million to $1.572 billion.
