Forex reserves zoom past $140bn

Forex Exchange Reserves rose $2.87 billion to touch a record high of $140.429 billion for the week ended March 11 as against the previous week's $137.56 billion, according to weekly statistical data released by the RBI today.

Foreign Currency Assets increased $2.82 billion to $134.584 for the week ended March 11, while gold reserves remained unchanged at $4.376 billion.

While Reserve Tranche Position gained $47 million to $1.464 billion, SDRs were unchanged at $5 million.
