IDBI Fortis Life gets Irda licence

IDBI Fortis Life Insurance Company, a joint venture life insurance company promoted by IDBI, Federal Bank and Fortis Insurance International of Netherlands, has been registered as a life insurer by Insurance Regulatory and Development Authority (Irda).

The certificate of registration was issued on Wednesday. With this registration, the total number of life insurers registered with the authority has gone up to 18, IRDA said in a release today.
