Irda Chief Says State Insurers Not Adhering To Accounting Standards

The Insurance Regulatory and Development Authority (Irda) chairman N Rangachary today flayed public sector insurance companies for not adhering to standard accounting regulations.
The authority has found that the statutory auditors of public sector insurers expressed ignorance of accounting regulations when it reviewed statutory audit reports for the year 2001-02, and sought excuse.
