K K Modi Group commissions University in Chhattisgarh

The University will be fully residential and is spread over 25 acres; first academic session in 2016-17

The K K Modi Group today launched its University in Durg district of Chhattisgarh. The University, a part of K K Modi Group, would be fully residential and had been spread over a sprawling 25 acres area in Jal Bandha locality of Durg District in Chhattisgarh. The first academic session was expected to start from the academic session 2016-17. K K Modi Group is a multi-billion dollar group and a part of the Modi Group founded by Rai Bahadur Gujarmal Modi in 1933.

The Group’s interest span across a diverse range of businesses which include agro and specialty chemicals, tobacco and chewing, tea and beverages, education, cosmetics, retail, network marketing, fashion, luxury and gourmet restaurants. The Group has been supporting philanthropic education for over 6 decades. It has created trusts that own and operate over 22 education institutes, schools, colleges, training centers etc.

“The K.K. Modi University is a new, transformative, experiential career-oriented University with a soul,” Charu Modi, Vice Chancellor of the University said. This very premium educational institute draws inspiration from the past, but looks ahead to the future with transformational changes that seek global excellence, she added.
