Nirma University academic meet from February 20

| Perspective 2004, an academic conference organised by the Nirma University for the first time, will begin on February 20. |
| The two-day conference will be held at the Nirma University campus on the Sarkhej-Gandhinagar highway. |
| A total of 26 participants, all students of B-schools from across the country, will participate in the event. |
| As many as 90 entries had been received, of which the 26 have been shortlisted. |
| 'Perspective 2004' is aimed at strengthening the relationship of Nirma University with the industry, the organisers said. |
| Unlike conventional B-school conferences, this one aims at addressing the complexities that a company or an industry may face, a release said. |
| The conference also aims at giving the tomorrow's managers a perspective about the current economic scenario, new business opportunity and the future trends, the release said. |
| Various events and competitions organised include case studies, paper presentations, business plan competitions and panel discussions. |
| While programmes such as the live case studies and business plan presentations are scheduled for February 20, the paper presentation and panel discussion will be on the next day. |
| Kirit Raval, Solicitor General Of India, Sunil Parekh, former president of the Confederation of Indian Industry, Gujarat, R G Nambiar, director, Sardar Patel Institute of Economics and Social Research, are likely to speak in the panel discussion, the organisers said in the release. |
| Through the paper presentations, an attempt will be made to getting varied perspective on the topic from the students of the business schools. |
| The topic for the presentation would be 'Sustaining economic growth rate - the Indian context.' The business plan competition is aimed at evaluating the capabilities of participants in creating new ventures and bringing new products and services to the marketplace, the release said. |
