Amrutanjan soars as board mulls equity buyback

Amrutanjan on Tuesday jumped 13.29 per cent to end the day at Rs 311.60 after the company announced that its board would meet on October 11 to consider a buyback of equity shares.

After opening 1.42 per cent higher at Rs 278.90, the stock touched an intraday high of Rs 329 and a low of Rs 261. There was a fair bit of action on the Amrutanjan counter, with traded volumes of 28,204 shares as against a two-week average of 733 shares, with the delivery volume at 80 per cent. The stock hit a 52-week low of Rs 235 on March 24, 2008.
