Cardamom down 1.7% on fresh restrictions

Amid profit-booking by speculators after authorities imposed restrictions, cardamom prices fell by Rs 19.60 to Rs 1,138.60 per kg in futures trade today.
Adequate stocks availability in the physical market also put pressure on cardamom prices.
At the Multi Commodity Exchange, the May delivery fell by Rs 19.60, or 1.69% to Rs 1,138.60 per kg in a business turnover of 984 lots.
The April delivery lost Rs 10.40, or 1.04%, to Rs 988 per kg in 237 lots.
Market analysts said offloading of positions by speculators after fresh restrictions imposed by the exchange authorities to curb speculative activity, put pressure on the cardamom prices at futures trade here.
