Cardamom rises on marriage season demand

Cardamom futures prices rose by Rs 8.80 to Rs 613.60 per kg today on pick-up in spot demand, driven by the ongoing marriage season.
Restricted arrivals in the spot markets from producing regions further fuelled the uptrend in the prices.
At the Multi Commodity Exchange, January cardamom rose by Rs 8.80, or 1.46%, to Rs 613.60 per kg, with a business turnover of 1,076 lots.
The December delivery gained Rs 8.10, or 1.43%, to Rs 573.80 per kg, with a trade volume of 667 lots.
Traders said apart from pick-up in demand in the spot market due to the marriage season, restricted arrivals from producing regions also pushed up the cardamom futures prices.
