Chana prices weakened by Rs 8 to Rs 2,629 per quintal in futures trade today, as speculators booked profits at higher levels amid subdued demand.
At the National Commodity and Derivatives Exchange, chana for March delivery fell by Rs 8, or 0.30 per cent, to Rs 2,629 per quintal, with an open interest of 84,820 lots.
Similarly, the commodity for delivery in February contract shed Rs 2, or 0.08 per cent, to Rs 2,556 per quintal, with a business turnover of 28,210 lots.
Market analysts said profit booking by speculators, against subdued demand in the spot market led to the fall in chana futures prices.
