Press Trust of India New Delhi

Tracking a firm global trend, crude oil futures prices rose smartly by Rs 30 to Rs 3,660 per barrel today.

At the Multi Commodity Exchange counter, crude oil for November delivery surged by Rs 30, or 0.83 per cent to Rs 3,660 per barrel, with a business turnover of 22 lots.

Similarly, the oil for delivery in March moved up by Rs 17, or 0.71 per cent to Rs 3,841 per barrel, clocking an open interest of three lots.

Marketmen said beside a firm global trend, fresh positions created by speculators, mainly led to rise in crude oil futures prices.
Meanwhile, New York's main contract, crude for December delivery, was up 51 cents to $81.94 a barrel.
