Food Development Bill To Ensure Global Standards

Food standards in line with the Codex norms, structures for futures trading in all food commodities and provisions for new technologies including genetically modified foods are some of the main features of the Food Development Bill that has been placed before the Union Cabinet.

The Bill, which along with the National Food Processing Policy is likely to be taken up by the Cabinet shortly, official sources told Business Standard.
