Guarseed rises in futures trade

Guarseed prices improved by Rs 22, or 1.10 per cent, to Rs 2,021 per quintal in the futures trading today, supported by firming trend in the spot markets.

At the National Commodity and Derivatives Exchange counter, guarseed prices for October contract edged up by Rs 22, or 1.10 per cent, to Rs 2,021 per quintal, with an open interest of 2,18,660 lots.

Similarly, the February contract also advanced by Rs 19, or 0.94 per cent, to Rs 2,035 per quintal, with an open interest of 970 lots.

Marketmen said firming trend at the spot markets on low level buying support, supported the upside in guarseed prices at futures market here.
