Gur prices fall on stockists selling

Gur prices fell by Rs 50 per quintal in the wholesale jaggery market today on emergence of selling by stockists, against fall in demand in view of rainy season.
Traders said stockists selling to reduced holding due to adverse weather conditions pulled down the gur prices.
They said fall in demand among retailers further helped the pulling down of prices. At Delhi, gur chakku declined by Rs 50 to Rs 2,800-2,850 per quintal on reduced local offtake.
In Muzzafarnagar, gur raskat fell by Rs 50 to Rs 1,950- 2,050, while chakku lost Rs 50 to Rs 2,550-2,650 per quintal.
