Haryana records 68.15 lakh tn of wheat arrival

Haryana has so far recorded wheat arrival of over 68.15 lakh tonne as compared to the total arrival of 63.61 lakh tonne during the same period last year.

The wheat arrival in the state is still continuing and is likely to cross the 69.24 lakh tonne mark, the highest wheat arrival recorded in the year 2009, State's Food and Supplies Department spokesperson said here today.

Sirsa district was leading in wheat arrival where over 10.21 lakh tonne of wheat had so far arrived in the mandis, followed by Fatehabad district with seven lakh tonne and Karnal with over 6.41 lakh tonne of wheat arrival, he said.

 

Out of the total arrival of wheat, over 68.11 lakh tonne has been purchased by the government procuring agencies, he added.
