JSW shines on FII buy

The total holding of Macquarie Bank has increased from 4.92 per cent to 5.03 per cent after this purchase. The stock gained by Rs 212 to close at Rs 1,110.95 on Friday against its previous week's close of Rs 898.95 on the BSE.

The company has achieved a 33 per cent growth in production of rolled long products segments to 34,000 tonnes in April 2008 over April 2007.

 

On May 7, 2008, the company entered into a joint venture with Toshiba for manufacturing and marketing steam turbines and generators in India.

The company's net profit rose 11.6 per cent to Rs 461 crore (Rs 413 crore) on 68.5 per cent rise in net sales to Rs 4190 crore (Rs 2,487 crore) in the fourth quarter ended March, 2008.
