Medium sugar advances on better buying

Medium sugar prices moved up further at the Vashi wholesale market here today on increased offtake by stockists and retail consumers. 

On the other hand, Small sugar variety closed stable in the absence of necessary buying support. 

Medium sugar (M-30) added another Rs 10 per quintal to Rs 2,661/2,811 from Tuesday's closing level of Rs 2,651/2,801 yesterday.   

The following are today's closing rates for sugar (per quintal), with the previous rates given in brackets:  

Medium sugar (M-30) quality: Rs 2,661/2,811 (Rs 2,651/2,801
Small sugar (S-30) quality: Rs 2,601/2,651 (Rs 2,601/2,651)
