Mentha oil falls 1.4% on profit-booking

Mentha oil prices fell by Rs 33 to Rs 2,345 per kg in futures trade today, as speculators locked-in gains at existing levels amid a weak trend at spot market due to sluggish demand.
Adequate stocks position following increased arrivals from Chandausi in Uttar Pradesh, also weighed on mentha oil futures prices.
At the Multi Commodity Exchange, the May delivery declined by Rs 33, or 1.38%, to Rs 2,345 per kg in a business volume of 144 lots.
The April contract eased by Rs 28.70, or 1.18%, to Rs 2,388.20 per kg, in a business turnover of 316 lots.
The fall in mentha oil prices at futures trade was mostly due to profit-booking by speculators and a weak trend at spot market on subdued demand, traders said.
