Mentha oil futures rise 0.47% as demand picks up

Mentha oil prices rose by Rs 5.30 to Rs 1,142.70 per kg in futures trading today on rising demand from pharmaceutical units in the spot market against against lower arrivals.

At the Multi Commodity Exchange, mentha oil for August delivery rose by Rs 5.30, or 0.47%, to Rs 1,142.70 per kg, with a business turnover of 789 lots. 

Similarly, the oil for September delivery traded higher by Rs 5.10, or 0.44%, to Rs 1,151.60 per kg, with a business turnover of 231 lots.

Market analysts said increased demand from pharmaceutical units in the spot markets helped mentha oil futures to trade higher.
