Mentha oil rises over 1% on fresh buying

Restricted supplies from Chandausi supported the uptrend

Press Trust of India New Delhi
Mentha oil prices rose by 1.02% to Rs 9.30 per kg in futures trade today as traders created fresh positions supported by a pick-up in demand at spot markets.

Restricted supplies from Chandausi in Uttar Pradesh also influenced the mentha oil prices at futures trade.

At the Multi Commodity Exchange (MCX), the June contract gained Rs 9.30, or 1.02%, to Rs 912.80 per kg in 126 lots.

The May contract rose by Rs 8.60, or 0.94%, to Rs 914 per kg in 338 lots.

Marketmen said fresh positions created by speculators driven by rising spot demand amid lower arrivals from Chandausi in Uttar Pradesh mainly pushed up mentha oil prices at futures trade.
