Mustardseed futures fall on aggresive selling

Mustard seed prices weakened by Rs 5.65 to Rs 533.25 per 20 kg in futures market today, on bearish market sentiments.

Market analysts said better supply coupled with sluggish demand from vanaspati units in physical markets, pushed down Mustard seed future prices.

At the National Commodity and Derivaties Exchange, mustard seed price for the October month contract slipped by Rs 5.65, or 1.05 per cent to Rs 533.25 per 20 kg, with an open interest of 1,05,110 lots.

November month contract also shed Rs 5.60, or 1.03 per cent to trade at Rs 540.70 per 20 kg, having an open interest of 74,730 lots.
