Potato futures fall on increased supplies

Potato prices fell by Rs 9.50 to Rs 664.80 per quintal in futures trade today on adequate stocks following increased arrivals in the spot market against subdued demand.
At the Multi Commodity Exchange, potato for March contract fell by Rs 9.50, or 1.41 per cent to Rs 664.80 per quintal, with a business turnover of two lots.
The potato for delivery in April contract also moved down by Rs 8.20, or 1.24 per cent, to Rs 650.70 per quintal, with a business volume of three lots.
Analysts said increased supplies in the spot market against sluggish demand mainly pulled down the potato futures prices
