Reliance, pharma scrips move up

| The gains of the index has picked up in late noon trades as fresh buying has emerged in pharma, select heavyweights and other old economy counters. The Sensex, as a result, has gained 31 points to 6,910, while the Nifty has moved up seven points to 2,167. Reliance on fresh buying has clocked a per cent gain (Rs 6) to Rs 592. While ITC has added 1.31% (Rs 18) to Rs 1,379, HLL is up a rupee at Rs 146. Satyam is trading higher with a 2.48% gains (Rs 10) at Rs 415. Infosys is still up a per cent (Rs 14) at Rs 2,267, while Wipro is trading weaker by a per cent (Rs 5) at Rs 716. HDFC Bank has edged higher by 2.39% (Rs 14) to Rs 615. While ICICI Bank is trading flat at Rs 399, SBI is subdued at Rs 723 - down Rs 3. Ranbaxy has advanced 1.93% (Rs 20) to Rs 1,054. While Dr. Reddy's has moved up 2.46% (Rs 18) to Rs 742, Cipla is up 1.41% (Rs 4) at Rs 270. HPCL has rebounded into the green with a gain of 1.90% (Rs 6) at Rs 343. While Hindalco has scaled up 2.85% (Rs 40) to Rs 1,456, Tisco is marginally up at Rs 437. Bajaj has extended its losses by 1.58% (Rs 17) to Rs 1,085. While Hero Honda has dipped 1.26% (Rs 7) to Rs 555, Maruti is down a per cent (Rs 4) at Rs 465. Tata Motors, however, is up a per cent (Rs 4) at Rs 483. BHEL has lost 1.46% (Rs 12) to Rs 841. |
