Robusta rates up Rs 150 at ICTA auction

Arabica prices were seen at the last week's level, but Robusta prices moved up by Rs 150 (for a 60 kg bag) at the Indian Coffee Trade Association (ICTA) auction on Thursday.
According to auctioneer Carritt Moran and Company, volumes at the auction are low because the crop year (coffee year October-September) is approaching its end. Demand at the auction was also sluggish due to high prices of varieties on sale. Of the 208 tonnes (Arabica comprising 122 tonnes and Robusta 86 tonnes) offered on sale, only 27 tonnes were sold.
Following are the prices quoted for grades in 50 kg bags.
Arabica varieties: Arabica plantation MNEB price quoted Rs 5,550-5,650 (no transaction due to high price), Arabica plantation A Rs 5,450-5,550 (no transaction due to high price), Arabica plantation C Rs 4,800 (682 kg), Arabica plantation BBB Rs 3,750 (3,090 kg) and Arabica Cherry PB Rs 4,550 (500 kg).
Robusta varieties: Robusta Parchment PB Rs 3,610 (1,291 kg), Robusta Cherry PB Rs 3,838 (5,327 kg), Robusta Cherry AA Rs 4,032 (1,043 kg), Robusta Cherry AB Rs 3,968 (3,387 kg) and Robusta Cherry BBB Rs 3,700 (482 kg).
