RPower rises 2% on synchronising of 300 MW thermal power unit

The company has synchronized the first of two units of its 600 MW Butibori Thermal Power Project near Nagpur in Maharashtra.

Reliance Power has moved higher by 2% to Rs 101.50, after the company said it has synchronized first of the two units of its 600 MW Butibori Thermal Power Project near Nagpur in Maharashtra.

“The company’s wholly owned subsidiary, Vidarbha Industries Power Limited has successfully synchronised its 1st Unit of 300 MW capacity at Butibori, Nagpur district of Maharashtra in the evening of June 25, 2012,” Reliance Power, Anil Ambani Group firm said in a filing to the stock exchanges.

Power generated from the plant will mainly be distributed to industrial as well as distribution utilities in Maharashtra, it added.

 

The stock opened at Rs 99.10, bouncing by 2.4% after the announcement on the Bombay Stock Exchange. A combined 1.24 million shares have changed hands on the counter till early noon deals.
