Sensex down 143pts; Bharti Airtel sheds 4%

The NSE Nifty is down 36 points at 4,703.

Reliance Infrastructure and Bharti Airtel have tumbled 4.2% each to Rs 1,121 and Rs 841, respectively.

Satyam has lost 3.9% at Rs 498. HDFC has slipped 2.8% to Rs 2,460.

BHEL is down 2.4% at Rs 1,557. Jaiprakash Associates has declined 2.4% to Rs 207.

HDFC Bank has dropped 2.2% to Rs 1,278. Larsen & Toubro has lost 1.9% to Rs 2,860.

Infosys is down 1.4% at Rs 1,923.

ACC has gained 3.8% to Rs 650. Ranbaxy has advanced 3% to Rs 530.

DLF has moved up 2.8% at Rs 584, and Reliance has inched 2.5% to Rs 2,415.

 

Tata Motors and Hindalco are up 1.3% each to Rs 570 and Rs 185, respectively.

The market breadth is negative - out of 2,683 stocks traded so far, 1,897 have declined, 725 have advanced and the rest are unchanged.
