Sensex flat in noon trades; Tata Steel zooms 9%

The Sensex is now down four points at 9,999.

Tata Steel has zoomed nearly 9% to Rs 222, and Hindalco has soared over 5% to Rs 55.

Ranbaxy and Jaiprkash Associates have surged over 4% each to Rs 165 and Rs 89, respectively.

Reliance Communications and SBI have moved up around 3% each to Rs 174 and Rs 1,125, respectively.

ICICI Bank, Larsen & Toubro and ACC have gained 2.5% each at Rs 384, Rs 677 and Rs 574, respectively.

Tata Motors, Sterlite and DLF are up around 2% each at Rs 176, Rs 375 and Rs 179, respectively.

Infosys has shed 2.6% at Rs 1,344. HDFC has dropped 2% to Rs 1,621.

 

Reliance Infrastructure and Mahindra & Mahindra are down 1% each at Rs 558 and Rs 381, respectively.

The market breadth is fairly positive - out of 2,481 stocks traded so far, 1,424 have advanced, 966 have declined and the rest are unchanged.
