Sensex recovers, up 5 pts

| The Sensex has bounced back into the green to 6,462 (up 5 pts) as fresh buying has emerged in select old and new economy stocks. The Nifty, however, is still weak at 1,991 - down two points. ITC has moved up a per cent (Rs 11) to Rs 1,477, while HLL is up a rupee at Rs 132. Reliance, however, is subdued with a loss of Rs 2 at Rs 537. HDFC Bank has inched up by a per cent (Rs 4) to Rs 534, and SBI is up a rupee at Rs 620. Dr. Reddy's and Cipla are trading slightly over a per cent gain each at Rs 667 and Rs 281, respectively. Ranbaxy is still up a per cent (Rs 7) at Rs 986. HDFC has surged 3.33% (Rs 25) to Rs 775. Infosys is still exhibiting weak trend at Rs 2,039 - down Rs 22. While Satyam is down 1.50% (Rs 6) at Rs 424, Wipro is trading lower by a per cent (Rs 5) at Rs 637. |
