Sensex up 26pts; REL surges 4%

The Sensex is now up 26 points at 12,348.

Reliance Energy has surged nearly 4% to Rs 481. HDFC and Maruti have rallied 2% each to Rs 1,447 and Rs 964, respectively.

ICICI Bank and Bajaj Auto have added 1.5% each to Rs 688 and Rs 2,940, respectively.

ITC, Cipla, Ranbaxy and HDFC Bank are up over 1% each.

Hero Honda has slipped 1.3% to Rs 778. Wipro and Larsen & Toubro are down 1% each at Rs 521 and Rs 2,594, respectively.

Out of 2,574 stocks traded so far, 1,344 have advanced, 1,145 have declined and the rest are unchanged.
