Sugar ends mixed in lacklustre trade

Sugar prices showed a mixed pattern of trading at the Vashi wholesale market here today due to alternate bouts of buying and selling.

Small sugar (S-30) was quoted at Rs 2,710/2,831 per quintal from last Saturday's closing level of Rs 2,711/2,821. Medium sugar (M-30) were also quoted at Rs 2,751/2,931 per quintal as compared to Rs 2,761/2,921.  

The following are today's closing rates for sugar (per quintal), with the previous rates given in brackets:   

Small sugar (S-30) quality: Rs 2,710/2,831 (Rs 2,711/2,821)
Medium sugar (M-30) quality: Rs 2,751/2,931 (Rs 2,761/2,921)
