Sugar slips on sluggish demand

Sugar prices declined modestly at the Vashi wholesale sugar market here today due to reduced offtake from retailers and bulk consumers, amid adequate stock position.

Small sugar quality (S-30) fell by Rs 10/11 per quintal to Rs 2,786/2,825 from last weekend's closing level of Rs 2,796/2,836.

Medium sugar (M-30) also moved down by Rs 1/8 per quintal to Rs 2,828/2,911 as against Rs 2,836/2,912 on Saturday.
