Zinc softens on subdued demand, global cues

Prices down over 0,4% from previous close

Press Trust of India New Delhi

Amid weak domestic as well as overseas trend, zinc prices softened by 0.43% to Rs 104.10 per kg in futures trade today.

At the Multi Commodity Exchange, zinc for delivery in August declined by 45 paise, or 0.43%, to Rs 104.10 per kg, with a business turnover of 46 lots.

The July contract softened by 35 paise, or 0.34%, to Rs 103.60 per kg in 1,738 lots.

Analysts attributed the decline in zinc futures to sluggish domestic demand amid a weak trend in global markets.

Meanwhile, zinc declined one% to USD 1,856 a tonne on the London Metal Exchange.
