Adam Parore and Sally Ridge, who were together for nine years before separating in 2010, have been embroiled in a bitter dispute, which centres on a jointly owned company- Small Business Accounting (SBA), in the High Court in Auckland.

Parore said that he offered his former partner Ridge "the deal of the century" in a bid to end the couple's financial disputes, Stuff.co.nz reported.

During cross-examination, he said that he went to extreme lengths to make it all work, not to his advantage but to Ridge's advantage.

The details of the proposed arrangement cannot be released because of suppression orders put in place to protect the interests of SBA.

Earlier, Ridge said that in September 2011 the 42-year-old, who is chief executive and managing director of the company, suddenly stopped giving her payments.

However the former cricketer denied the claims, saying that Ridge had stopped turning up to meetings and had contributed little to the business.
