Tense situation prevailed in Venkatagiri town in Andhra Pradesh's Nellore district on Saturday after YSRCP cadre tried to halt the Congress party's Bus Yatra.
The Andhra Pradesh Congress is conducting a 'Bharosa Yatra' rally across the state and as part of this, the Congress state president held the Yatra in six constituencies in the Nellore district.
When the Yatra was being held at Venkatagiri town, YSRCP cadre attempted to stop it. They showed black flags to the Yatra and raised slogans against the Congress alleging that they were attempting to to support the TDP only to defeat YSRCP, the party cadre alleged.
The confrontation between workers of both parties stirred some tension in the area. Later, police intervened and brought the situation under control.
